The Colour of Summer

It's July, and so far; a quiet year.
So far, so much time pottering around the garden.
The garden is definitely the place to potter. You can, whilst pottering, discover the most amazing things.
For instance, did you know that artichokes, if you don't rip their heads off and eat them, reward you with the most amazing display?
The bumble bees and bugs also seem to find them orgasmic.

And then, did you know that every part of the Lotus can be eaten?
Hands off. No ripping off of heads allowed.
Did you know the Jasmine flower releases its fragrance at night, after the sun has set and especially when the moon is waxing? Who knew that the moon needed waxing?
Strangely, all these smells and colours are not just confined to our garden.
These wash-house lilies were found in my favourite village, St Cirq Lapopie.

St Cirq in the Pink:
This was our first visit of the year, with some blue family members:
Other versions of family members are available...
Some have more colours than others..
(Editors note: This photo was taken in Bristol, not in France, despite the sun...)

Luke was with us for a week with his marsupial ami
(There's quite a complex play on words there that most will not understand.
Including me.)

And so. Finally. After all this pottering. What is the Colour of Summer?
Pretty bleedin' obvious really...

  1. Perfection the lotus flower!
Did the bee-eaters stay with you and breed in the area or move on?
    Nature is peaceful!

    1. Bee-eaters are still here. About 10 of them I think, but they won’t stay still while I count them...
