Chapter Eight - Cheetah Cubs at Play
And so we are back with the same family of cheetahs. A mother and six cubs.
This time I'll keep silent for a while. Just absorb the playfulness in these photos. This is the bright side of life...
Even here, however, the dark side is ever present.
We had left them for half an hour to eat our lunch and relieve ourselves. On our return, they had also helped themselves to lunch. Gazelle.
Although dinner was served, they seemed apprehensive. With good reason. Not far away, on a nearby outcrop of rock, was a family of lions. As the lions seemed oblivious to their presence, one of the cubs started munching.
So they all piled in.
One of the cubs seemed particularly fond of the gazelles tail. It ate the whole thing.
It was time to leave this crazy family in peace...
Next: mammals are going to give way to some birds. Some very weird birds...
I still think you should have got out and stroked them.
