Plan D. Three days out in the jungle, sleeping out overnight in tents made of mosquito netting. Hmmm. It’s a plan I suppose.
No sooner out of the tsetse forest, we arrived at the lakeside to see lions
The omens are good.
Although these bickering birds might not come under the 'good omens' flag.
Once more we find fresh dog tracks and even more astonishing, fresh dog poo. My reflexes made me search my pockets for poo bags.
Simba was convinced he had seen a dog and hurtled the poor van though the scrub. Exciting but without reward.
We stopped for lunch next to a sand river...
There are also smaller animals in Africa...
Plus a few birds...
So we ended our day next to a large lake, full of hippos and crocodiles, protected from them by a piece of flimsy netting.
